Arrecife evicts a squatted house in Argana that was used for "drug dealing"

The owner of the property asked the Arrecife City Council for the mediation of the Local Police, who were watching this property as a result of repeated neighborhood complaints.

Arrecife Local Police operation yesterday in Argana Alta.

The Local Police of Arrecife achieved the voluntary eviction of a squatting in the Argana Alta neighborhood. The owner of the property had requested the mayor of the city, Yonathan de León, for the mediation of the City Council and the assistance of the Local Police.

This property had been squatted "for some time", according to the council, and had "become a focus of constant complaints from the neighbors due to the conflict generated by its squatters, who, in addition, according to neighborhood complaints, allegedly "were engaged in drug dealing."

The Local Police had this property and its occupants under surveillance, given the repeated complaints from residents of the area, who even provided photographs and videos.

The property required the help of the City Council so that the Local Police could mediate with its occupants and get them to leave this house. According to the council, "the mediation has yielded good results to achieve tranquility in the neighborhood" and managed to get the occupants to leave the property on Monday afternoon.

Yonathan de León has remarked that "in Arrecife we will continue with these police actions, and we will not stop until the residents of all neighborhoods can live peacefully. I want citizens to live in safe environments with healthy neighborhood coexistence."
