The Local Police of Arrecife continues to increase its presence, constantly, in the sensitive areas of the city where residents have reported the presence of certain individuals engaged in drug dealing, sale, and consumption of illicit drugs.
Throughout this week, several agents have carried out deployments on different days in the area known as Los Pinos, in the Titerroy neighborhood. The police presence, mandated by Mayor Yonathan de León to provide more security and surveillance in these places, has led to the arrest of a young person, 18 years of age, who had a judicial order for arrest and placement at the disposal of Justice.
The residents of this public space in Titerroy had been warning about the presence of people who allegedly engage in the sale and consumption of illicit drugs, and there is also a public school located nearby.
The Arrecife Local Police have been setting up special operations, both at night and in broad daylight, to prevent these parks and public spaces in the city from becoming hubs for drug dealing and smoking.
Over the past few months, under the guidance of Mayor Yonathan de León, the Local Police have proceeded to dismantle and close down up to twelve smoking dens located in various neighborhoods of Arrecife.
The Local Police are calling on citizens to notify the Local Police Force of any information or alerts that may reinforce ongoing investigations to combat drug trafficking and prevent its consumption in public spaces and parks.
