The night of this Tuesday was marked by two container fires registered in the early morning in Arrecife, which forced a rapid intervention by the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium. According to the entity itself, the first alert was issued by a resident and later confirmed by the Cecoes, which warned of flames on Triana street, in the municipality of Arrecife.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, the Local Police had the road closed due to the presence of a fire that was about two meters high. The officers proceeded to extinguish it using water and a quick-response hose, confirming that the fire affected four containers: one for glass recycling and three for organic waste collection.
During this intervention, the control center communicated a new alert for another container fire, this time on Ortega y Gasset street. The firefighters deployed immediately and, upon arrival, confirmed that the flames had affected four containers and had also reached the right side of a parked vehicle. The fire was extinguished with water and subsequently cooled to prevent reignition, with the service concluded once the area was secured. The causes of both fires have not been detailed at this time
