A backhoe machine protagonized on the afternoon of this Wednesday, March 18, an accident in Playa Quemada, in the municipality of Yaiza, upon colliding against a telephone pole, causing the fall of several structures and wiring onto the road.
According to the Security and Emergency Consortium, the alert was received around 16:55 hours through the Yaiza Local Police and subsequently from Cecoes, alerting to the presence of several damaged telephone poles and fallen cables on the roadway.
Personnel from Parque Sur moved to the scene, who upon their arrival confirmed that the collision of the machinery had caused the breakage of several telephone poles, generating a risk situation in the area. The Local Police were already at the scene guarding the affected area.
The emergency personnel proceeded to secure one of the poles with the help of the aerial ladder and a rope, fixing it to a large stone to prevent its fall. Likewise, they secured several cables to a public streetlamp using zip ties, with the aim of preventing them from invading the roadway.
After ensuring safety in the area and eliminating the risk to traffic, the emergency services declared the intervention finished and returned to base.
