Firefighters from the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium and paramedics from the Canary Islands Emergency Service have rescued this Monday a 64-year-old woman who had an accident in Playa Blanca.
The events took place around 2:45 p.m. when firefighters were activated to help rescue a woman on Papagayo beach in the municipality of Yaiza. The woman had joint pain and was in a difficult to access area, according to the Emergency Coordination Center.
According to reports from the Emergency Consortium to La Voz, the woman had been dragged by the water and after being hit, she would have suffered a fracture in her knee. Given the impossibility of getting out of the sea, she had to be rescued by firefighters and paramedics from the Canary Islands Emergency Service to climb the slope of the beach to the ambulance. After that, she was transferred to the Playa Blanca clinic.
