A turtle that had its body trapped in plastics has been rescued this Wednesday in the waters of Las Cucharas beach in Costa Teguise and returned to the sea once it has been freed from them.
It was personnel from the jet ski rental company and water activities H2o Sports Lanzarote, who found the turtle. "I saw a plastic bottle and, as I approached, I saw the turtle tied to it by a kind of threads," the man who found it told La Voz.
After that, the turtle was taken to land, where it was freed from the plastics, to later be returned to the sea. "I took it with my colleagues, they cut the cables to which it was attached and it swam away again," said the man who rescued it, who emphasized the "large amount" of plastic that is found in the sea every day.
