An Iberia Express plane that took off from Madrid at 3:55 p.m. bound for Lanzarote, had to return to Barajas airport after a passenger suffered an epileptic seizure in mid-flight.
According to one of the passengers, "when we had been flying for about 20 minutes, a young man began to convulse and the stewardesses quickly asked for a doctor, and a passenger, who identified herself as a doctor, attended to him." Soon after, the passenger regained consciousness. However, the pilot decided to turn around and land in Madrid.
The boy was traveling with his parents and brother. "When we landed, the father apologized to the rest of the passengers and received applause," says the passenger. Once on the ground, Samur personnel entered and took the young man away with the rest of his family.
The pilot explained the situation to the passengers on the plane and shortly, the Iberia Express will take off again for Lanzarote.
