A paraglider seriously injured in an accident

At 09:48 hours, a call was received alerting the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2, reporting that a paraglider had suffered a fall and needed medical assistance in a difficult access location on the Mácher Mountain, municipality of Tías.

1-1-2 immediately activated the necessary emergency resources.

Personnel from the GES rescue helicopter located the injured person, a 65-year-old male with serious trauma to his upper and lower limbs, and evacuated him to a nearby area where medical personnel from the SUC assisted and stabilized him for transfer to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital.

The local Police and Civil Protection collaborated with the rest of the emergency resources. The Civil Guard instructed the corresponding procedures.
