The General Corps of the Canary Police, in collaboration with the Local Police of Arrecife and Game inspectors of the Government of the Canary Islands, is investigating a 45-year-old man for crimes of document forgery, fraud, as well as the initiation of several files on gaming matters, proceeding to the seizure of two recreational or gambling machines of the same brand and model, all after falsifying their identifying elements in one of them in order to evade the mandatory inspections on gaming matters and thus avoid paying the total amount of cash collected to the leasing company and the Public Treasury.

The action took place in a restaurant establishment in the municipality, where it was verified that the legally issued machine was inoperative, disconnected and hidden in an interior compartment of the premises, while the cloned machine with the identifying elements of the genuine one was in full operation.

After verification by the police officers specialized in document examination of the falsity of the referenced identifying elements, they proceeded to the full identification of the adulterated gambling machine, detecting through its traceability that it had never been exploited by any company in the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands, but belonged to the Autonomous Community of Extremadura.

Given these facts, the machines were seized and sealed, also proceeding to the seizure of a considerable amount of cash that both contained in their internal mechanism, for later making them available to the judicial authority.

Finally, the pertinent police proceedings were instructed, informing the judicial authority of Lanzarote.
