A 50-year-old man has died after suffering a heart attack this Tuesday while swimming on a beach in Puerto del Carmen. The events took place this Tuesday, around 1:05 p.m., at Playa Grande, according to the Emergency Coordinating Center (CECOES).
The surveillance and rescue service, realizing what had happened, alerted 1-1-2 and proceeded to rescue the man from the sea. He was in cardiorespiratory arrest and the rescuers began to perform resuscitation and reanimation maneuvers.
Shortly after, the staff of the Canary Emergency Service (SUC) arrived in the area, given that the man was still in the same condition, and performed basic and advanced resuscitation maneuvers. Finally, nothing could be done for his life and he ended up dying.
In addition, the Local Police and Civil Guard also went to the scene, who initiated the corresponding proceedings.
