A man arrested in Lanzarote for selling drugs in parks and leisure areas throughout the island

The Civil Guard of Lanzarote has arrested a 50-year-old man as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health. The arrest occurred on April 4 within the framework of operation “Jabolanza”, carried out by the investigation area of the Main Post of San Bartolomé, after a laborious investigation that allowed discovering that the detainee was selling drugs retail in different parts of the island, especially in parks and leisure areas frequented by young people and residents.

According to the Civil Guard, the investigated person traveled on demand to different places in Lanzarote to make deliveries, a modus operandi that complicated the monitoring work. Finally, and with judicial authorization, the entry and search of his home was carried out, where 117 grams of cocaine, cash, precision scales and various tools related to drug distribution were seized.

The detainee was placed at the disposal of the Court in charge of Guard of Arrecife. The Civil Guard emphasizes that this intervention reinforces its commitment to the fight against small-scale drug trafficking in leisure areas, with the aim of guaranteeing the safety and well-being of the Lanzarote community.
