A man arrested for the murder of a restaurant owner in Puerto del Carmen

A 59-year-old man, with initials F.A.E.M. and of Spanish nationality, has been arrested as the alleged perpetrator of the homicide registered on Thursday afternoon in Puerto del Carmen.

According to the Civil Guard, the arrested man had a working relationship with the victim, whom after an argument he stabbed in the neck, later confirming his death. Specifically, and according to other sources consulted by La Voz, the victim, 45 years old and of Moroccan nationality, ran the Las Vegas restaurant located on Avenida de las Playas in Puerto del Carmen, whose premises he had rented, while the alleged murderer is the cook of the establishment.

The aggression occurred at 2:20 p.m., with the circumstance that, at the time of the events, two agents of the Traffic Group of the Civil Guard of the Arrecife Detachment were in the vicinity, who were off duty and who proceeded to arrest the alleged perpetrator and assist the victim. Agents of the Local Police and paramedics of the Canary Emergency Service also went to the scene, who could only confirm the death of the victim.

The Territorial Team of the Judicial Police of Tías has taken charge of the investigation, carrying out the corresponding procedures, having proceeded at 4:20 p.m., together with the judicial authority, to the removal of the corpse.
