The Accident Unit of the Local Police of Arrecife has intervened after receiving a complaint related to irregular activities in a garage attached to a house located in the Argana Baja neighborhood. The space, which was being used as a warehouse and paint shop by a company in the construction sector, presented several relevant infractions.

These include the absence of an activity license and the lack of adequate technical conditioning for carrying out painting work. Also non-compliance in the management of hazardous waste, such as solvents and paints, in addition to deficiencies in fire safety measures, highlighting the lack of emergency signage and the incorrect location of fire extinguishers.

In addition, it was found that the activities generated nuisance due to noise and emissions of toxic vapors, which poses a risk to public health and affects coexistence in the residential area. The proceedings have been sent to the competent authorities for the adoption of the necessary measures in accordance with current regulations.

The Arrecife City Council reminds the owners of this type of activity of the importance of complying with current legislation, both in terms of waste management and the safety of their facilities. Adequate legal advice is recommended to guarantee regulatory compliance and avoid financial penalties that may arise from these breaches.
