A fire in the engine room of the Insular Hospital in Arrecife, which now functions as a specialized center for Geriatrics, temporarily left the facilities without power, until the firefighters of the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium managed to extinguish the flames, as reported by the island entity.
The fire occurred around 4:25 p.m. this Sunday and teams from the Consortium's central park arrived at the scene, noticing thick black smoke and strong explosions.
Through the door grilles and through a vent near the ceiling they fired powder extinguishers, and after seeing that no smoke came out, they opened the door to check its extinction and see the extent of the fire.
