A young couple fell about eight meters in height inside one of the mills of the old salt mines of Puerto Naos in Arrecife, as reported by the Emergency Consortium. It is a 16-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy who were evacuated in serious condition to Molina Orosa.

The incident occurred at about 23:46 this Monday, February 12, when one of the injured called CECOES. The health coordinator of the SUC on duty in the 1-1-2 operating room provided teleassistance to those affected, telling them how to act until the arrival of the emergency services.

Agents of the National Police, the Local Police, Civil Protection, Port Authority, two ambulances of the Canary Emergency Service and firefighters were dispatched to the scene.

Once on the scene, the firefighters accessed the injured with a height rescue team for a first assessment where both presented contusions and various lacerations. Subsequently, with the help of a hoist and a caving stretcher, they first evacuated the young man because he was the one with the most serious injuries. and later to the injured woman.

Once outside they were assisted by paramedics, the boy presented a severe traumatic brain injury and the 16-year-old girl presented polytrauma of a serious nature. Once stabilized, they were transferred by SUC ambulance to Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital.

The police services collaborated with the intervening services and carried out the corresponding procedures.
