A 65-year-old woman has died of drowning after falling into a cistern in La Candelaria in Tías. According to reports from the Emergency Consortium, "alerted by the Civil Guard, requesting our presence to extract a body of a woman of approximately 65 years old who remained inside a drowned cistern."
The event took place at approximately 00.15 hours this Monday. Local Police and Civil Guard have moved to the place. After verifying the situation, the firefighters placed a tripod in the mouth of the well to lower themselves into the cistern. "Later, a harness is placed on the deceased and with the help of a hoist the body is extracted, depositing it on a stretcher, leaving the personnel of the funeral home, forensic doctor and Judicial Agent in charge of the body."
Once the personnel are outside the cistern, the material is collected, the different Security forces are informed to finalize the service.
