The I Oral Narration Cycle "Let me tell you", organized by the Department of Culture of the Arrecife City Council, returns this September to the capital with the Lanzarote narrator and actress Isabel Cabrera.
She will be in charge of delighting the public with two unmissable sessions. On Saturday, September 7, at the Arrecife Civic Center, she will present "Bread, banana and bitches pa'l cine", an evocative session for adults that will transport them to a past full of bartering, barefoot and artisan hands, through endearing anecdotes about the grandmothers of Puerto and Tinajo.
On the other hand, on Sunday, September 8, at the Agustín de la Hoz House of Culture, Isabel Cabrera will take the little ones to explore the "Stories of the Sea", a magical session full of stories and maritime legends, perfect to share with the family.
The Oral Narration Cycle "Let me tell you" that began in May, has captured the attention and enthusiasm of the public, establishing itself as an essential event in the cultural agenda of Arrecife.
The Councilor for Culture, Abigail González Guillén, has highlighted the importance of promoting the culture of storytelling and points out that "the art of narrating stories is a tradition that we must preserve and promote. Through these cycles, we not only keep this custom alive, but we also connect people with our history."
As it has been doing since it began, the cycle will feature a diverse program that includes storytelling sessions aimed at families with children from 5 years old, as well as activities specially designed for young people and adults. In addition, sessions in English have been planned, which further expands the cultural offer and accessibility to a wider audience. All these sessions will be taught by professional narrators who reside on the Island.
The councilor also highlights that "within our objective of promoting inclusion in the activities organized by Cultura Arrecife, those that require a sign language interpreter, as is the case of oral narration, will have it. We want all citizens to be able to enjoy each event and we are working to eliminate those barriers that prevent it."
Admission to all sessions is free, until full capacity is reached.
