This summer, the south of Lanzarote holds a secret: for two consecutive nights, the Agricultural Market Square of Uga is transformed into an open-air cinema where suspense and narrative intelligence will be the protagonists.
On Thursday, August 7th, the public will be able to enjoy The Footprint (1972), a masterpiece of mental games directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz. An interpretative duel between Laurence Olivier and Michael Caine that still amazes today for its sophistication, black humor, and chain of surprises.
The following day, Friday the 8th, the tension moves to the corridors of power with The Pelican Brief (1993), a judicial intrigue with a nineties feel directed by Alan J. Pakula, starring Julia Roberts and Denzel Washington. Politics, conspiracies, and courage in a story that has not lost its relevance.
This new stop of the Summer Traveling Cinema, organized by Tenique Cultural with the support of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and the municipalities of the island, invites you to be surprised by the cinema in a different format: under the open sky, in a location with history, and with the desire to share more than just a movie.
Both sessions begin at 9:00 p.m., with free admission and popcorn included.
In addition, thanks to the collaboration of the Culture, Education, and Senior Citizen areas of the Arrecife City Council, a free bus service will be available from the capital to Uga to facilitate the transfer of the public. The details of the route and the registration forms are available on the Tenique Cultural website or directly at this link and at this other one.
