Procession in Uga in honor of San Isidro Labrador for the "Big Day of the town"

Dozens of faithful and companions did not miss the Big Day of Uga, May 15, the appointed date of San Isidro Labrador, an afternoon of mass and procession, the first accompanied by the Vocal Group of Yaiza and then the pilgrimage, with the omnipresent figure of the Patron Saint, animated by the Municipal Band of Yaiza, a meeting distinguished by the religious fervor of a working and grateful community, reports the City Council of Yaiza.

The parish priest of Yaiza, Jonathan Almeida, presided over the celebration of San Isidro in the presence of the institutional representation of Yaiza, Óscar Noda and Javier Camacho, respectively, and the notorious participation of neighbors, many of them dedicated to agricultural and livestock tasks, especially the camel sector and its activity linked to tourism with camel rides in the Timanfaya National Park, says the Consortium.

Uga shared its Big Day with the people of Lanzarote, bringing together parishioners from different parts of the Island who admire San Isidro, it says.

In the procession, the endearing afternoon of last Saturday's pilgrimage was still remembered, this year with a lot of participation from young people in the municipality, as were the different proposals of the week-long festive program that closed with "a very good taste in the mouth and satisfaction expressed" by the neighborhood itself, which expressed "its joy" both in the events and in the relaxed meetings of fraternization in the food stalls, it concludes.
