With much animation and participation, the events programmed for the San Ginés festivities have been taking place, and on Tuesday night on the banks of the Charco, the "Traditional Music Encounter" took place, with the participation of four groups.
The event began with the performance of the Vocal Group "El Cribo Canta", formed by users of the association, family members and volunteers, directed by Arnold Bonilla. The artists performed very popular songs, some of them recorded on their album "Sueños", such as “Reloj”, “La vida es Bella”, “Me importas Tú” or a medley of habaneras.
Next, the members of the Parranda “Coheso” took to the stage, under the direction of Pedro Borges, who performed the most popular of the Canarian repertoire, very lively and festive songs in which the public also participated. They sang songs such as “Lanzarote, Lanzarote”, “Pobre Rafael”, “La Rumbita” or “el Capotin”, among others.
The third place was for the group "Adjoal", formed by the timple players Alexis Lemes, José Vicente Pérez, the guitarist Adrián Níz and the soloists Almudena Hernández and Orlando Niz, great professionals with an extensive musical career full of recognition for their dedication and good work in each of their performances. Their performance was based on instrumental themes with timples and guitar, with a medley tribute to José Antonio Ramos, “El pájaro Campana” and the participation of the soloists Almudena and Orlando with seguidillas from Lanzarote, folias and isa parrandera.
The Parrandera Marinera “Los Buches” was in charge of closing the meeting. The group, very linked to the San Ginés festivities, is directed by Javier Bravo, and presented new songs in the line that characterizes them, with the purest marine feeling: “Vamos pa’ Cuatro Esquinas”, “El Amor es como el Vino”, “Vals Marinero” and “la Habanera”, the latter dedicated to César Manrique, who was also a founding member of the parranda in its beginnings back in 1963.
The president of Los Buches, José Julián Villanueva, on behalf of the group, presented the sculpture "El Buche de Cristal" to the president of the César Manrique Foundation, José Juan Ramírez, and with the song "Chiquilla Mía" the meeting came to an end.
