The Councilor for Youth of the Arrecife City Council, Rosmen Quevedo, celebrates the resounding success of the XXXII San Ginés Rock Festival, which this year recovered the Plaza de El Almacén as a stage after several editions at the Youth House. The festival once again demonstrated the strength of rock as a cultural expression and its enormous power to attract people, bringing together a multitude of people in two unforgettable days.
The event, framed within the patron saint festivities of the capital of Lanzarote, consolidated its position as an emblematic event on the island's musical calendar. The public enjoyed a top-level line-up headed by Koma, a benchmark of Spanish metal and urban rock, and the band S, made up of former Sugarless members and with Sammy from Lanzarote as vocalist.
The stage also hosted prominent local bands such as Cosecha Urbana, K-tharsis, Autofilia, Skatoons and Azarug, who offered a varied and intense sound journey, from classic rock to ska and contemporary fusions.
Rosmen Quevedo has expressed his satisfaction with the public's response and the artistic level of the festival and has pointed out that "this success is a reflection of the commitment and talent of all the participating bands, who have made Arrecife vibrate with their music. I sincerely thank the public, who with their enthusiasm demonstrate that rock is still more alive than ever in our city. Recovering the Plaza de El Almacén has been a success, an open space that has allowed everyone to enjoy the festival in a unique environment," says Quevedo.
The councilor has also highlighted that the San Ginés Rock Festival "is already part of the cultural identity of Arrecife, an event that every year brings together different generations around live music and that projects the city as a benchmark of youth and cultural dynamism."
Tardeo Joven, another success at the festivities
The Youth program also included the Tardeo Joven, held on Friday on Avenida Vargas with performances by Naife, Los Callaos and DJ CHK, which brought together many young people in a festive and convivial atmosphere.
