Last Saturday night, the event called "Music and Poetry" took place at the Timple House-Museum with a full house, with an audience involved so that culture after the break due to covid also returns to normal.

The event began with a welcome speech by the councilor of the area, Sara Bermúdez, giving way to the first of the readers. In total there are 9 women and men belonging to the Teguise Reading Club and actors from the Esperanza Spínola theater group. Each of them had chosen their poems from different authors, interpreting them with their personal stamp. They were masterfully accompanied by the musical chords of two greats of music in Lanzarote, the timple player Alexis Lemes and the guitarist Adrián Níz, who had chosen different compositions for each of the poems.

Once the first part was finished, the concert began. Alexis and Adrián conquered the audience, who did not stop applauding each of the chosen compositions. Committed young people who give everything when they have the opportunity to go on stage with a surprising interpretive level. With just a timple and a guitar they manage to fill an entire space with their melodies, adding their personal touch. You could hear Chipude, a composition by the great José Antonio Ramos, What a wonderful world by Louis Armstrong, Alfonsina y el Mar by Mercedes Sosa or Capullito de Alelí by Caetano Veloso.

A simple but very rich cultural event where the public was so comfortable that they asked the musicians to continue playing, a request that was accepted, inviting the councilor Sara Bermúdez to join them and together they performed some folías, thus putting the finishing touch to the event.
