The Teleclub of the Society of Máguez has created MAHO, a music contest in Lanzarote. The organization points out that it is "aimed at all musical groups of residents or born in Lanzarote" and adds that the "objective is to promote and disseminate live performances of the musicians' own compositions on the island, strengthen the connection network between them and activate cultural life".

The inauguration ceremony will be held on February 4 at 7:00 p.m. at the Teleclub of the Society, located at Calle Santa Barbara number 15 in Máguez. "It will feature special performances outside the contest and the presentation of the first registered group," explain the organizers.

The registration period for the contest will be open until May 1, 2023, and can be done through this website, where the rules specifying the requirements to enter the contest are also published. "The presentation concerts of the participants will be held on Saturdays from February to June at the facilities of the Teleclub of the Society of Máguez. The schedule will be at 8:00 p.m. You can check the scheduled groups here. Activities from other disciplines such as poetry, performance, photography or painting will be presented jointly outside the contest, which will enrich the MAHO meetings on Saturdays," say from the Teleclub.

"The contest will have a single winning group or soloist, who will receive the prize of 1000€ and the final will be in December of this year, coinciding with the patron saint festivities of Máguez," explains the organization.

As for the jury, it is international and is made up of professionals from the world of music, theater and cinema. "And there will also be a public vote, which will represent 20% of the final decision.", conclude the creators of MAHO.
