With the motto 'Mental Health, Global Health: A universal right', the World Mental Health Day will be celebrated on October 10. For this reason, the 'El Cribo Mental Health Association' will open the calendar of events with an Information Table that will be installed on Saturday, September 30 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., on Calle Real next to the old Cabildo. In addition, at the El Salinero Theater on October 6 and 7, the premiere of the play 'Taboo States' will take place, whose author and director is Salvador Leal.
With a plot that revolves around the stigma associated with mental illness, the play aims to present the viewer with a "serious reflection on prejudices and their consequences." Continuing with the events, on October 8, the 'Beneficial Gala Lunch' will take place in the restaurant of the Farmer's Monument, which will feature raffles and musical performances. Also on the 10th, at 7:30 p.m., at the Real Casino Club Náutico and with the title 'Job Insecurity and Mental Health', professionals from the labor and medical sectors will participate in a round table to address the situation in which many workers find themselves with "precarious conditions" that affect both physical and mental health.
"From 'El Cribo' we extend a general invitation to everyone to participate in these events that, on the one hand, aim to be festive and, on the other, protest in order to achieve greater dedication to people who, for various reasons, are at risk of social exclusion and who can aspire to a better quality of life and enjoy the well-being that we all desire," says its president, Rosa María Gonzalez.
