The musical Barrios Con En-canto, a project by Ciro Corujo and endorsed by the Department of Festivities of the Arrecife City Council, arrived in the seaside neighborhood of Valterra on the occasion of the festivities in honor of Nuestra Señora del Carmen. The neighbors gathered next to the stage installed in the park to enjoy the good music and songs, which for 90 minutes, offered the great cast of Lanzarote artists such as Miguel Ángel Cabrera on piano, Roberto Gil on bass, José Vicente Pérez on timple, Adrián Niz, on guitar and the voices of the soloists Almudena Hernández and Ciro Corujo.
Barrios Con En-Canto is a very attractive format due to the musical variety where the attending public enjoyed the powerful voices of Almudena and Ciro, who cannot resist any musical genre, from the song with Canarian roots to the bolero, the ranchera or the tango. The complicity existing in the artistic group, musicians and soloists crossed the barrier of the stage making it much more intimate and easily getting the public to also participate by humming some songs and choruses.
The musical surprised those present when a special guest who was not part of the program made an appearance on stage, with his sympathy, closeness and improvisation and with his timple on his back. He was located next to the rest of the artists to perform the Sorondongo, a traditional piece of Canarian folklore to which "Cirito Corujo" puts his personal stamp, receiving as a gift the applause of the public.
Echedey Eugenio, the Councilor for Festivities of the Arrecife City Council, present at the event together with some corporation colleagues, approached at the end to congratulate each of the artists and encouraged them to continue with the project that is receiving so much acceptance from the public since its first staging.
