The S.C.R.D. Torrelavega continued with the cultural program last Thursday night where it celebrated the act of presenting the album Musicalizando Poetas, by the Musical and Cultural Association El Cabozo.
This is a work carried out by the musicians Andrés Peñate and Vicente López, a project that began to take shape about five years ago but due to the covid pandemic and the paperwork to be registered as a Cultural Association, it led them to delay its launch that, finally, was presented to the Lanzarote society last Thursday night with a content of 12 songs.
In this work, Andrés Peñate and Vicente López set music to some literary texts written by writers who have authorized them to set them to music, such as Jaime Quesada Martín, Víctor Fernández Gopar, Matilde Molina, Emilio Fernández Batista, Rosario Rodríguez Vidal, Leopoldo Díaz Suárez or Pedro Paz, among others.
In the presentation, Andrés Peñate and Vicente López addressed the public making it clear that they are not composers, but musicians, and they currently have more than 200 poems and lyrics for when concerts arise.
The Musical and Cultural Association El Cabozo is created with the purpose of making known the literary works of the writers and poets of Lanzarote through music, accompanying them in book fairs, making a call to the town halls and the Cabildo so that they also count on them in some of the events to be held on the occasion of the festivities that take place in the towns of the Lanzarote municipalities.
Andrés Peñate and Vicente López came down from the stage of the S.C.R.D. Torrelavega very satisfied and grateful for having presented their first album Musicalizando Poetas and receiving the warmth of the public with their applause.
