The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Department of the Elderly, directed by Nori Machín, organized a visit to the 'XXXIV Craft Fair of Lanzarote' this Monday for the elderly of the Island.

The vice president of the Cabildo, Jacobo Medina, together with Nori Machín and Marci Acuña as Minister of Social Welfare, as well as the Ministers of Culture and Crafts, Jesús Machín Tavío and Aroa Revelo, and other institutional representatives, received "the large group of elderly people and gave them fans and a personalized bag from the fair with a small snack inside."

"Our elderly deserve dignified and differentiated treatment, and just seeing the happy faces of them showed the importance of this day," said the vice president, Jacobo Medina, who congratulated the "work of the Department of the Elderly for the organization of this visit."

The Minister of the Elderly, Nori Machín, assured that the day was "a resounding success." "I hope it becomes an annual meeting, where all the elderly from all the municipalities can participate," stressed Machín, who also pointed out that the area will "continue working so that this visit is not the only leisure meeting that is held from the new island council."

The elderly from Haría, Arrecife, Tinajo and Yaiza walked through all the stands of the Fair, visiting the gastronomy stalls and enjoying the musical performance of the Parranda Majalula and the Parranda Los Valles.

Likewise, from the Department of Social Welfare, coordinated by Marci Acuña, "another excursion to the Fair" will be organized this Thursday, September 14 for the "dependent elderly users of the network of social and health centers on the Island."
