Lanzarote welcomes one of the most anticipated ballet productions of the season with the arrival of the Classical Ballet of Cuba, which will present the emblematic work Sleeping Beauty, at the Víctor Fernández Gopar Theater “El Salinero”, on January 17 and 18 at 8:00 p.m.. With a majestic staging and a cast of 35 dancers, this production, which follows the famous choreography of Alicia Alonso, promises to immerse the public in a spectacle of elegance, fantasy and romance.

The Culture Councilor of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Jesús Machín Tavío, has highlighted the importance of hosting shows of this level on the island: “Bringing a production of this magnitude is a unique opportunity to bring classical ballet closer to Lanzarote and allow the public to enjoy one of the great works of the universal repertoire. The presence of the Classical Ballet of Cuba reinforces our commitment to artistic excellence and the dissemination of dance as a fundamental part of our cultural program.”

Under the direction of Laura Alonso, heir to the legacy of Alicia Alonso, this production is distinguished by its impressive costumes, dazzling scenery and impeccable execution. Sleeping Beauty, with music by Piotr Ilich Tchaikovsky, tells the story of Princess Aurora, who falls into a deep sleep after being the victim of a spell, awakening only with the kiss of a prince. This work, considered one of the most iconic of classical ballet, combines exceptional choreographic complexity with a universally appreciated story.

This event is part of the cultural program organized in collaboration with Planeta Fama, Internacional Master Work Ballet and the El Salinero Theater, "reaffirming the commitment of the Institution chaired by Oswaldo Betancort to the dissemination of high-quality shows with international projection."
