Concert "A pies y manos"

After the vacation break, the Casa-Museo del Timple resumed its cultural activity last Friday night with the concert "A pies y manos", in the Santo Domingo convent, a show endorsed by the timple player Benito Cabrera featuring the famous guitarist Tomás Fariñas and the dancer and choreographer Jep Meléndez.

"A pies y Manos", a show in which the timple and the guitar artistically dialogue with the choreographies of Jep Meléndez, where the dance maintains a flow of communication in which tradition, transgression and the search for spaces without borders come together, to live an identity that flees from stereotypes.

Benito Cabrera, Tomás Fariñas and Jep Meléndez conquered the audience that filled the convent's capacity. With a spectacular staging where the musical chords intertwined with the impressive and novel choreographies of Meléndez where his bare feet, caressing the sands, merged as a hand that caresses the timple or the guitar. Another of the moments where the public vibrated was with the surprising choreography of the "Claqué", where the dancer performed a tap dance with the tip and heel of his shoes which are reinforced by metal sheets that allow him to mark the rhythm.

Meléndez, who possesses great bodily ability, set his arms and hands in motion, demonstrating once again that bodily expression and music are compatible and good travel companions. Cabrera, Fariñas and Meléndez managed to reach the public from the first moment, who responded with their applause.
