The week between June 4 and June 10 includes a multitude of cultural events of interest. Among them, the screening of three auteur films, the Literary Encounter Verbena, two pictorial exhibitions, an international congress on communication, history conferences in the Teguise Archive, as well as a dance performance in Yaiza.
In the music section, the Sonidos Líquidos Festival brings Ángela González to El Almacén and the Class_ik Lanzarote Festival returns to Tías with a duo of violinists, who the previous day will give a local concert at the San Francisco Javier Sociocultural Center in Arrecife.

Amarga Navidad. Cine Club Lanzarote
Almodóvar's latest film, Amarga Navidad, shot in Lanzarote, is screened at the Atlántida cinemas as part of the H Communication Congress. Afterwards, there will be a talk with Antxón Gómez, Almodóvar's art director, who will discuss how a film is made from the inside and what it was like to shoot in Lanzarote.

Tiempo de Revancha. Cine Club Lanzarote
Cine Club Lanzarote pays tribute to the recently deceased filmmaker Adolfo Aristarain by recovering one of his earliest works, "Tiempo de Revancha," a mythical title in which he combined the rigor of classic cinema with a critical and committed view of the society of his time, still under the terror of the Argentine military dictatorship.

Un amor. Cine Buñuel
As part of the Verbena literature meeting, the film Un amor, by Isabel Coixet, is screened, a bitter and desperate story about the fear of loneliness and the obsessive search for love as a refuge. The film is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by the writer Sara Mesa.

Verbena
The Verbena literature meeting proposes in this new edition a look at deviations as fertile spaces for creation. Coordinated by Lana Corujo, the participants in this meeting are Juan Evaristo Valls, Tatiana Donoso, Kenya Stéphanie, Adriana Murad Konings, Juli Mesa, and Laura López Balza.
When: Inauguration on June 9 at 11:00 AM with the exhibition “Sshh, don’t wake the volcanoes” by Laura López Balza, who returns to Lanzarote with her luminous painting.

International H Congress
The VI International H Congress on Communication, Audiovisual Media, and Analysis is taking place at the El Fondeadero Civic Center, Puerto del Carmen, with the presence of numerous scholars from different universities. Along with its previous online phase, this congress brings together nearly 300 researchers and professionals from around the world until June 6, delving into cinema, photography, and media through conferences, panels, and outdoor talks, all free and open to the public.
