Televisión Canaria will broadcast the New Year's Eve chimes this year from the Lanzarote municipality of San Bartolomé, specifically from the town square. This was announced by the mayor of the municipality, Isidro Pérez, on Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero.
"On December 31st we will possibly be on all televisions and homes in the Canary Islands," said the mayor, who was happy about the news that will be officially announced throughout this Monday. "It is news that has filled us with great satisfaction," added Pérez.
Last year's chimes were the most watched of all televisions, according to RTVC. "The regional channel became the leading channel with 16.6%, with the New Year's Eve Chimes special being the star slot with 57% of the share, the highest of all televisions." The 2021 ones were broadcast from La Palma and were hosted by the presenters Victorio Pérez, Pilar Rumeu, Eloísa González and Fátima Plata, and the actress Petite Lorena.
