The Timple House-Museum in Teguise, fulfilling its programming, pleasantly surprised the audience this Friday night with the concert selected by the curator of the House-Museum, Benito Cabrera, on this occasion dedicated to Bel Canto.

This is an original and unprecedented project in rigorous premiere, providing all audiences with access to this form of artistic expression with an innovative, flexible and small format from which the idea of this opera, also called 'pocket opera', springs. The show arises from the reinterpretation of the most famous operatic arias for soprano in the repertoire, creating a unique dialogue between the voice and the guitars as an orchestra in a concert-type stage proposal.

The Canary Guitar Quartet, composed of Samuel Delgado, Luis Alejandro García, Tomás Fariña and Fran Yanes, were in charge of harmonizing the concert with their guitars. Canary Guitar Quartet has two record recordings 21 and Pintmedera and have taken their music to the Canary Islands and different cities in peninsular Spain.

In addition, they have received important awards from countries such as Bulgaria and Italy. In December 2023, they received the important news of being nominated for the Canary Islands Music Awards in the 'Best Classical Music Work' category.

The surprising voice of the Tenerife soprano Candelaria González Torres joined the guitars of Canary Guitar Quartet. It is difficult to describe all the content of the concert, Cuarte and Soprano set the bar very high in each of the arias performed by great composers such as Bellini, Rossini, Mozart, Verdi or Donizetti, among others.

Candelaria González Torres has very important distinctions such as the Award for the interpretation of the work of a Canarian author, within the 'María Orán' music-song Award, 'Canarian Woman 2021' Award, within the framework of the San Benito Abad festivities in La Laguna, Añañingo de Arafo 2016 Award, etc.

Canary Guitar Quartet and Candelaria González Torres took the public on an original journey through the peaks of opera from the late 18th century to the early 20th century, with special emphasis on Bel Canto, that vocal stylistic mantra that captivated 19th century audiences.

Francisco Javier Díaz, Councilor for Culture of the Teguise City Council, congratulated the soprano and musicians, presenting them with the poster announcing the concert.
