Romería de Tahíche, 2025

With great enthusiasm, the residents of the town of Tahíche celebrated the pilgrimage offering this Saturday in honor of Santiago Apóstol.

At six in the afternoon, the festive tour began, led by the musical chords and traditional dances of the Guagime Folklore Group of Tahíche. After the group came several carts decorated as is customary in the town and all of them pulled by donkeys, always very well cared for throughout the tour.

In addition, the members of the Cultural Association Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe de Teguise, the Parranda El Lagar de Teseguite, Ico Callero y Familia, among others, also participated and were very animated. During the walk through the different streets of the town, the pilgrims shared traditional homemade pastries and gofio kneaded with the zurrón, all well watered by the good wines of Lanzarote.

Once finished, the delegation made a stop in the town square where the image of the Apostle Santiago was located, accompanied by the parish priest of Teguise, Juan Manuel Molina, to receive the offering of non-perishable products that the pilgrims were depositing and that will later be distributed to the most vulnerable families in the municipality.

Next, the names of the Romera and Romero 2025, the prize for the best decorated cart and the best decorated street were announced. The party continued in the tent installed in the Santiago El Mayor Neighborhood Association with a lively Baile del Romero, featuring performances by the Tahíche Folklore School, the Son de Mar and Son del Norte Parrandas. The party ended with the verbena enlivened by the Kódigo 4 orchestra, extending well into midnight.
