The 15th edition of Sonidos Líquidos was presented this Wednesday morning. The event will be held, as every year, on the stage of the La Geria winery on June 7 and tickets have been sold out since the beginning of the year.
The press conference, held in the aforementioned winery, was attended by Oswaldo Betancort, president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote; Óscar Noda, mayor of Yaiza; Ignacio Solana, CEO of Gesprotur; Jorge Pérez, president of the Regulatory Council of the D.O. Vinos de Lanzarote; and Neftalí Acosta, director of Arenao Producciones and organizer of the festival.
This edition will bring together Lori Meyers, one of the most emblematic bands of national indie, together with a careful selection of artists who promise to make the public vibrate. Queralt Lahoz will display all her stage presence with an original mix of flamenco, soul and urban rhythms, while the Canadians Wine Lips will bring their psychedelic and energetic garage-punk, perfect to light up the dance floor. The line-up is completed with the southern psychedelia of Vera Fauna, the provocative freshness of Brolorizo, the emotional pop of Eva Olvido, the vocal power of Isa Izquierdo together with MVBA, and the local pride with Los Callaos, the band from Lanzarote, who will bring the local flavor to this unique musical experience.
All this will happen after the success of the "The Belingueo" recently held at the Casa Museo del Campesino and the El Grifo winery. Events in which music and good wine lovers were able to enjoy Acantha Lang, in the first event; and Los Mejillones Tigre and Repion, in the anniversary of the oldest winery in the Canary Islands.
During the presentation, the speakers highlighted the value of Sonidos Líquidos as a cultural and sustainable project, which merges music, wine and landscape in a unique experience for the senses. All of them highlighted the positive impact of the festival both at a tourist level and in the promotion of the wines of the D.O. Lanzarote.
As Neftalí Acosta recalled, "Sonidos Líquidos is much more than a music festival: it represents a model of event committed to the territory, culture and sustainability". "We have been prioritizing quality over quantity for 15 editions and we remain firm in our principles, which makes Sonidos Líquidos a boutique festival, which takes care of every detail and does not give in to the desire to grow in number but in conscious enjoyment", he added.
According to a statement from the Cabildo de Lanzarote, "the festival's commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is manifested in a strategy based on three pillars: social, environmental and economic". Among the measures highlighted by the first institution, they indicated that "they include the responsible management of waste and reduction of the use of plastics, sustainable mobility, both for the public and for the Festival staff; the promotion of local and proximity consumption and environmental awareness. In addition, one of the great pillars of Sonidos Líquidos is the maintenance of the reduction of capacity".
Also, this year the Orange Point is installed again, as a seal of inclusion, thanks to the agreement reached with the area of Social Welfare of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, led by the counselor Marci Acuña. In addition, the deaf community of Lanzarote (Asociación Apsal) has been invited, who will be able to enjoy the concerts thanks to the vibrating vests; as well as members of the mental health association El Cribo.
For his part, Oswaldo Betancort congratulated the organizer and stressed the commitment of the Cabildo de Lanzarote to support "cultural proposals that adapt to our policy of environmental protection and sustainable development". He also referred to the multidisciplinary work carried out by the Institution to maintain and enhance the preservation of the landscape, promoting with specific aid the care of spaces such as La Geria, the emblematic environment that hosts this international festival".
Jorge Pérez emphasized that "the relationship between Sonidos Líquidos and the Wines of Lanzarote is only strengthening, year after year, and generating synergies, multiplying the visibility and impact of both brands inside and outside the territory".
Ignacio Solana explained that with the calls to sponsor events in the destination, several objectives have been achieved, "including generating a greater projection and optimization of the Canary Islands tourist brand through a high advertising return, in order to consolidate the image of a destination that goes beyond the sun and beach that has managed to establish an attractive agenda of activities of the highest level". This is the case of Sonidos Líquidos, "an event that we have sponsored in all calls and that has demonstrated the success of its advertising return, as last year this festival obtained a media impact estimated at an audience of 15 million people", concluded Solana.
