Playa Honda feels the beat of 'Heart', the performing arts festival for all audiences

The festival, held on Friday and Saturday, offered performances of all kinds, from musicals, through theater to comedy sessions

Celebration of the 'Heart' Show

This weekend, the Playa Honda avenue vibrated to the rhythm of laughter, percussion and applause. It did so with an audience that did not want to miss any detail of Heart, the performing arts festival for all audiences that is consolidated and focuses on sustainability, inclusion and respect.

In addition, this edition has been 100% self-sufficient thanks to the use of photovoltaic panels to power the generator battery and has involved citizens in the decoration of the pergolas on Playa Honda avenue through participatory workshops.

A top-level program and a dedicated audience, already waiting for the next edition

On Friday afternoon, unusually windy for the time of year, Cuerpo Teatro kicked off. With their play Escamas, the company made the audience feel like the protagonist and the only existing being, received individually behind the curtain. Next, Mireia Miracle flooded the Sebadal space with rebellion. With her show Sueña, young and old enjoyed an interesting proposal of gestural theater, clown, dance and original music. A mischievous show in which painting and color abounded as a way to break with the established.

And precisely colorful were the athletes of Nacho Villar - Yllana, with his work Olympics. This quartet, unable to qualify for the Olympic Games, made the audience cry with laughter with a compendium of crazy and surreal situations. Then, it was the turn of Mario Ezno and his puppet Manolo Bolaño. Together, they once again thrilled with a puppet show that has already passed through 40 countries and hundreds of cities, fulfilling the artist's dream.

The grand finale of the first day was given by Mr. copini and his Walo World, with which those present could immerse themselves in a clown show that would forever transform their perspective of the world. And it was not the only opportunity to enjoy this award-winning artist and his impressive staging. On Saturday the party continued with The Herock, an epic show in which this rock hero made the audience's senses tremble with his thunderous show, putting the final touch to the festival.

Getting fully into this second day of leisure for the whole family, Entropías Imposibles brought the ancient Japanese art of Kamishibai to Lanzarote. First, in the form of a workshop and, in the afternoon, as a storytelling session. An entertaining and fun way to transmit knowledge, managing to capture the attention of the public of all ages.

Another memorable moment of this family weekend was marked by QB Cube School. Under their direction, the boys and girls from the municipality's schools made the Playa Honda avenue and the public vibrate with their Pum Pum Heart.

And when it seemed that nothing else could surprise, on Saturday afternoon Adrián Conde arrived with his juggling, magic and clowning, creating a unique experience and provoking contagious laughter with his Intríngulis. Soon it was the turn of the Astronauts of Satélite Teatro. This inclusive company from Tenerife was in charge of guiding the public in a very close and special parade, which gave way to Plumáticas. A dance show in which the members of the company El Jablero knew how to skillfully show the similarities between the hen and the woman.

To complete the experience, the Pérgolas Callao and Tamboril became spaces for experimentation, welcoming art and music. There, many curious people dared to play the drums with Elio Pérez and the piano, with Laila Farhang.

With record attendance and the participation of companies of recognized prestige at national and international level, Heart closes an edition in which "the atmosphere has been marked by multiculturalism, respect and dedication of the public. That heartbeat - that of the artists, the colleagues, the attendees and all those people who make it possible - is what moves us to think about a next edition", concludes Yvonne Thierry, director of the festival.

Organized by Arenao Producciones, and sponsored by Turismo Lanzarote and Cultura Cabildo de Lanzarote, the festival has the collaboration of the Ayuntamiento de San Bartolomé and companies such as Lumar, Chacón and Relaxia.
