The San Bartolomé City Council successfully celebrated the night of the San Juan bonfires in Playa Honda. A day that had a great family atmosphere and that this 2024 moved its activities to El Curita beach to protect the nesting of the Kentish plover. Hundreds of neighbors were able to enjoy the traditional bonfire, music and party respecting the biodiversity of the species in the area.

The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, has pointed out the importance of combining the conservation of the Kentish plover and the leisure and enjoyment of the beach. “We want to thank all citizens for the respect for the environment that they have shown throughout the day. An authentic party in which we were able to enjoy family and friends in harmony with the nature and biodiversity of the area,” he stated.

For her part, the Councilor for Festivities, Estefanía Luzardo, highlighted the wide participation during all the events that took place from the early hours of the afternoon, with great reception from neighbors of all ages “who were able to enjoy a day of dynamization activities with games, music and the lighting of the bonfire.”
