The Tías City Council has prepared a healthy summer campaign in the sports area of Playa Grande, next to the volleyball courts of Puerto del Carmen, through directed sports activities that will take place from Monday to Friday in the morning during the months of July, August and September.
The summer campaign, called Move with us, will begin on Monday, July 1, and will consist of the daily delivery of two different directed activities. Thus, at 8.30 am on Mondays there will be Zumba, on Tuesdays at the same time there will be exercises for a healthy back, on Wednesdays Zumba will return, on Thursdays there will be toning and on Fridays, Zumba. At 9.30 am on Mondays there will be yoga, on Tuesdays at the same time there will be toning, on Wednesdays, yoga; on Thursdays, healthy back; and on Fridays, fit cross beach.
The Councilor for Sports, Ismael Cruz, recalls that, according to various studies, "practicing sports is not only good for the physical, since it also helps us to stay much more stable and happy psychologically and emotionally speaking." There are many reasons to practice sports or activities on the beach and the first of them is that it helps to entertain in a very healthy and beneficial way for the body.
The Councilor for Beaches, Christopher Notario, points out that practicing sports on the beach is especially beneficial for health due to its proximity to the sea, which provides well-being, if it is carried out in the first or last hours of the day. "In addition, people who want to participate in these activities can enjoy the tranquility of the beach, facilitating their relaxation, so we encourage them to come to Playa Grande every day."
