The municipality of Yaiza heats up the Playa Blanca Carnival atmosphere with the publication of the poster announcing its unbridled four-day event, from March 12 to 15, and the preview of the festive program that arrives sounding loud: the performance in the south of Lanzarote by the musical phenomenon of the moment, the Canarian group Nueva Línea, and the show by the Dominican singer Henry Méndez, two of the attractions to liven up a Carnival, which does not close the door to more surprises, as anticipated by the mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, and the councilor for Festivals, Daniel Medina
Playa Blanca inspires its 2026 Carnival in The Gods of Olympus and from that Greek mythology emerge three of them to put a face to the southern festival. The graphic work ‘Olympus in Yaiza’ is authored by the Gran Canaria designer Armando Arencibia Martín, winner of the open competition held by the City Council. Yaiza received a total of 15 proposals with a single prize for the winner of 1,200 euros
The jury made up of cultural creators and managers, Cintia Machín, Alexander Rodríguez and David Machado, opted for the pastel-colored work created by Armando Arencibia in digital technique. Aphrodite is born from a shell in the sea, while Dionysus watches the scene enchanted and Athena, prepared for Carnival, invites us to enjoy the holidays in Playa Blanca, is the visual call that Yaiza makes to her neighbors and visitors
Music that moves
Nueva Línea is the star guest group to liven up the Day Carnival on Sunday, March 15. The young vocalists Alicia Padilla, Sofía Marrero, Raquel González, and Mayte Cabrera are ready to set the pace for the collective dance in Playa Blanca. The town will be able to enjoy their catchy version of ‘Noche de copas’ and all the songs that are a hit inside and outside the Canary Islands.
Henry Méndez is another of the artists confirmed by the City Council for Playa Blanca. His fusion of Latin rhythms with electronic and pop will liven up the celebration on Friday, March 13, thus, the south of Lanzarote is taking shape with its carnival program so that masked revelers and party-goers are not tempted to stay home
