The concert of the singer Saiko held in Costa Teguise was a success. The artist from Granada gathered more than 12,000 people on Wednesday night, who waited from early in the morning for the arrival of the main artist of the 'Lanzarote Summer Urban Fest'. The first edition of a music festival that has come to stay, started with a staging with a lot of local flavor, accompanied by an enclosure full of young people who, technically, showed itself as an idyllic setting on the island.

“There is no record that supports such a level of attendance to an event that in its first edition has exceeded the attendance of more than 12,000 people, although the truth is that the end of summer and the arrival of Saiko foreshadowed that it was going to be a memorable night”, declare from the organization.

“Indeed, it has been a musical bet aimed at young people who have thoroughly enjoyed one of the revelation artists of the national scene, with opening acts and DJs from the Island who encouraged the hours prior to Saiko's long-awaited appearance on stage”, said Oswaldo Betancort, highlighting the "exquisite coordination" of the security and emergency forces of Lanzarote, as well as the volunteers, who have "contributed to the unprecedented success" of an event financed by the Cabildo and the Teguise City Council, whose purpose is to "enrich the cultural variety of the Island, revitalize areas of influence so that it reverts to the local economy and provide young people with a quality leisure offer".

"The success of the concert is an indication that young people also want to be included in the leisure calendar with innovative proposals"

"The success of the concert is an indication that young people also want to be included in the leisure calendar with innovative proposals and we will do so from the Youth area of the Cabildo, attending to the tastes and suggestions of a population segment that deserves that this type of festivals are organized at home and also give visibility to local talent”, said the island councilor for Youth, Aroa Revelo.

For her part, Olivia Duque, as mayor of Teguise, highlighted that “on last night's musical evening, not only did a good atmosphere reign among the attendees, but it also filled the establishments in the town of Costa Teguise, which enjoys a high-level gastronomic offer", and that "it has been a success to bet on an event like this in a space as large as the parking lot on Islas Canarias Avenue, where we hope to celebrate more shows and improve the complementary offer and services so that everything takes place comfortably and with maximum security for the public and for residents and the commercial and restaurant fabric”.

In addition, the Councilor for Festivities of the Teguise City Council, Javier Díaz, acknowledges that "teenagers have been very excited about the concert". Since "there are not many activities for this age group between 15 and 16 years old in Lanzarote", he adds.
