The dance couple formed by Marcos García and Ainara Soto will be the first from Lanzarote to participate in the World Dance Sport Championship, which will take place in Poland in October.
The young people have managed to qualify after reaching the first place in the national ranking and finishing in fourth position in the Spanish Caribbean Dance Championship, held in Narón (Galicia).
In addition, those have not been the only competitions in which they have stood out, as they have also been proclaimed champions in the XXX European Retro Dance Championship held in Zumárraga (Guipúzcoa), in the Caribbean Combined modalities (which includes Bachata, Chachachá and Salsa), Tango, Pasodoble, Chachachá, Salsa and Rock and Roll.
They also occupied the second position in Retro Combined (Waltz, Tango and Pasodoble), the third in Waltz and the fourth in Bachata, as well as the 15th position in the Spanish Latin Dance Championship and the 39th in the prestigious international Grand Slam category, in which representatives from 16 countries met.
These achievements have also been recognized by the mayor of Arrecife, Astrid Pérez, who recently received the couple in La Recova to congratulate them and wish them luck in their next competition.
Pérez emphasized “the excellent example that young people receive with these magnificent results by verifying through you that with dedication and effort, and leading a healthy life, great successes can be achieved.”
