The Fiestas de Los Dolores of Tinajo will feature this year the performance of the Madrid-based singer Malú, responsible for hits such as Blanco y negro (2010) and A Prueba de Ti (2013), in honor of the Patron Saint of Lanzarote.
The artist has fourteen studio albums, five compilation albums, and two live albums. Throughout her musical career, she has also had hits such as Ni un segundo with Vanesa Martín, Te voy a olvidar with David Bisbal, or Aprendiz in collaboration with Alejandro Sanz.
As La Voz has learned, the Cabildo of Lanzarote, responsible for organizing and funding the Tinajo festivities, had considered the possibility of featuring the performance of the Canarian artist Quevedo.
The mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín (CC), explained on the morning show of Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero that the Canarian singer does not perform in free, public concerts, but rather prefers to do so with paid admission, like other international artists.
"I believe that whether they are from the Canary Islands, Spain, or anywhere else, you have to start building the foundation and not let them get carried away because there was a song by the murga Los Bisnietos that said sometimes you resemble the golden eagle, the higher you climb, the harder you fall," Machín highlighted on Buenos días, Lanzarote. "And that's true, so the gentleman from the Canary Islands who emerged just three days ago, so to speak, and doesn't do a concert for people who can't afford it, come on," he insisted.
Machín also assured that he would have liked to have had the performance of the Colombian artist Shakira, who will only give concerts in Spain during her residency in Madrid.
