La Playa del Reducto is preparing to experience this Saturday, August 23, starting at 6:00 p.m., a unique afternoon with San Ginés Joven, an event organized by the Department of Festivities of the Arrecife City Council, under the responsibility of the Deputy Mayor, Echedey Eugenio, in coordination with the Youth Area, directed by Rosmen Quevedo.
This event will turn the heart of Arrecife into the epicenter of urban music. With free admission, the event will bring together renowned artists, led by Maikel Delacalle, who will offer his only concert in Spain in 2025.
Maikel Delacalle from Tenerife arrives at a moment of full artistic maturity. Since he burst onto the scene with his emblematic Replay —gold record—, he has been able to reinvent the Spanish urban genre with his own style that fuses R&B, hip hop and dancehall. His most recent single Shorty, with UK garage influences, confirms his versatility and constant evolution. Arrecife will be his only opportunity to connect live with the Spanish public this year.
The lineup also includes Soge Culebra, one of the most solid voices on the current scene. The artist from Murcia has consolidated his career with albums such as Mar de Cristal and STORM, with collaborations with figures such as Quevedo, Mora or Saiko. In 2024 he surprised with his EP ENERGÍA, an introspective work that connects with resilience and calm. And in 2025 he returns with force thanks to his latest release, "El Corrido" with Manuel Turizo, an international collaboration that positions him at the forefront of contemporary Latin music.
The event will also feature the energy of DJ Verse, a benchmark in the Spanish urban scene with more than a decade of experience. His style and versatility have led him to play on the main stages of the country and to accompany great artists at festivals and tours, becoming one of the most recognized DJs on the current circuit.
The new generation of voices will be represented by Carmen, a singer, composer and visual creator from Tenerife who, at only 21 years old, has already performed on stages such as Reggaeton Beach Festival or Granca Live Fest and has signed international collaborations as a composer. Her authenticity and projection place her as one of the great promises of the Canary Islands scene.
The lineup is completed with Ale Ossorio, a DJ born in Lanzarote with more than 14 years of experience in the Canary Islands music scene. He has performed at festivals and reference venues in the islands and has shared the stage with artists such as Quevedo, Justin Quiles or Luis Fonsi, consolidating himself as an essential name in the urban culture of the archipelago.
Echedey Eugenio and Rosmen Quevedo state that "with this edition, San Ginés Joven 2025 reaffirms Arrecife as the capital of urban culture in the Canary Islands: a free and open-air meeting where island and state talent come together on a unique stage facing the sea."
