The organization of Sonidos Líquidos announced "the worst forecasts" early this Saturday afternoon and reported that the event scheduled for June 6 had to be canceled due to meteorological reasons.
In a statement released on their social media, the organizers pointed out that the situation has not improved in recent hours and the wind has exceeded gusts of more than 75 kilometers per hour. "Official forecasts indicate an increase in wind speed for the rest of the day," they stated.
In this way, they indicated that after carefully evaluating "in coordination with the competent authorities" on the island's safety, they have made "the toughest decision" in their sixteen editions.
"We have put the safety of everyone who was going to be part of the festival today first," they highlighted, while also informing that the meteorological situation prevents "enjoying the festival in minimally adequate conditions."
"We know that this is a very tough decision that we understand may cause inconvenience and that we deeply regret and apologize for," the organization emphasized.
Finally, they reported that in the coming days the processes for refunding tickets and bus tickets will be announced.
