The Lanzarote Literature Festival (FDLL) continues to shape the program for its fourth edition, which will be held between October and December 2026 in various venues in Arrecife, Puerto del Carmen, Yaiza, and Teguise. The writer Laura Ferrero joins the lineup, replacing Elisa Victoria, expanding a program that brings together some of the most prominent voices in contemporary literature.
Organized by the Picón Narrativas Cultural Association, the festival is supported by the Tías City Council, the Publications Service of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, the City Councils of Yaiza, Arrecife, and Teguise, the Lanzarote Centers of Art, Culture, and Tourism (CACT), and Caja7.
Under the banner “Letras de rofe y sal” (Writings of volcanic rock and salt), the FDLL26 maintains its commitment to bringing literature to the island territory through encounters with national and international authors, literary creation workshops, and spaces for reflection on contemporary writing.
Laura Ferrero Joins the Program
The author will participate on November 25th at 7:30 PM at the Casa Benito Pérez Armas in Yaiza, where she will discuss the relationship between literature and personal experience and how writing can become a way of re-examining what has marked us.
Memory, bonds, identity, and the need to find words for what is sometimes difficult to tell permeate a body of work that combines literature and personal experience from an intimate and profoundly human perspective.
Laura Ferrero is a writer, journalist, and screenwriter. She is the author of Piscinas vacías, La gente no existe, Qué vas a hacer con el resto de tu vida, and Los astronautas, among other works. Her literature explores memory, family, bonds, and identity, transforming everyday experiences into narrative material.
With this addition, the FDLL26 program of literary encounters now includes Ray Loriga, Berna González-Harbour, Juan Gómez Bárcena, Pola Oloixarac, Laura Ferrero, and Manuel Vilas.
Six Voices to Explore Contemporary Literature
The program will begin on October 8th with Ray Loriga, who will inaugurate the festival at the Insular Library of Arrecife. On October 20th, the Fondeadero Civic Center in Puerto del Carmen will host Berna González-Harbour, while Juan Gómez Bárcena will participate on October 27th in the same venue.
On November 6, it will be Pola Oloixarac's turn, also in Puerto del Carmen. The program will continue on November 25 in Yaiza with Laura Ferrero and will conclude on December 2 with Manuel Vilas at the Casa Benito Pérez Armas.
Through open conversations with the public, the six authors will share their works, creative processes, and different ways of understanding literature, addressing issues such as memory, identity, the relationship between fiction and reality, territory, technology, or human connections.
All meetings will be moderated by the writer Carlos Battaglini, director of the Lanzarote Literature Festival.
Workshops to approach writing
The program is completed with two literary creation workshops that will take place at the Casa de la Cultura Agustín de la Hoz in Arrecife.
On October 14, the writer Fernando Clemot will give "How to build and dismantle a story," a practical workshop to explore the tools that shape a story, from structure and rhythm to the construction of a personal voice.
On October 21, Laura Fernández will lead "In search of lost imagination," a proposal to recover playfulness, intuition, and freedom as drivers of writing.
