The Haría City Council, together with the Festival Commission, is finalizing preparations for the celebration of the Festivals in honor of Our Lady of the Pine 2026 in Punta Mujeres, which will take place from August 31 to September 8 with a broad program aimed at residents and visitors.
The mayor of Haría, Alfredo Villalba, highlights that "the Punta Mujeres festivals are an opportunity to meet, share, and keep alive traditions that are part of the identity of the town and the entire municipality".
For his part, the Councilor for Festivals, Alberto de León, values "the work done to offer a varied program, designed for all ages and which includes music, folklore, sports, traditional games, crafts, and children's activities".
The program will begin on Monday, August 31, with the traditional adornment of the town and the decoration of the facades, as well as a rondalla dance workshop, ronda championships, a boxing demonstration, and the Km0 Market. The day will also feature a parade of giants and big-heads, enlivened by the batucada of the Los Yaiseros carnival group and a tribute to Jesús Perdomo Ramírez on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the El Marinero Neighborhood Association, accompanied by performances by Atlántico Trío and Ciro Corujo.
During the following days, traditional games, rosette and macramé workshops, children's activities, gymkhanas, gastronomic contests, competitions of bola, envite, truco and chinchón, activities for the elderly, musical performances and different activities linked to local traditions will take place. The Km0 Market will also be present for a good part of the week as a showcase for the talent and products made by artisans.
Among the highlighted events is, on Thursday, September 3, the traditional Burning of Los Costeros, followed by a popular barbecue accompanied by the Guagime Folk Group and the parranda groups Gurfines son los del Puerto and Pal' Porrón. Previously, there will be a performance by the Blimea Folk Group, from Asturias.
Music will also have an important role. On Friday, September 4, a Drag Queen Gala will be held, followed by a popular festival with Lanzarote Swing and the orchestras Rikabanda and Mambo con Fuego.
On Saturday, September 5, another of the central moments of the festivities will arrive with the romería, and dancing with Son del Mar, Son del Norte, Malpeis and Swing del Norte.
On Sunday, September 6, the pier area will host the Water Festival with water inflatables, while in the afternoon the Tapas Festival will be held in the area of the food stalls, with performances by Arpegio, Jaleo, Alegranza and Son de Gofio. The day will conclude with the raffle draw of the Fiestas in honor of Nuestra Señora del Pino 2026.
The events will conclude on Tuesday, September 8, with the celebration, at 7:00 PM, of the holy mass and subsequent procession, accompanied by the Alborada group.
The Haría City Council encourages residents and visitors to participate in the different programmed activities and to enjoy a festival that combines tradition, popular culture, leisure, and coexistence in Punta Mujeres.
