The Haría City Council will begin the traditional San Juan Bautista 2024 Patron Saint Festivities with the reading of the proclamation by the first deputy mayor between 2015 and 2019, José Pérez Dorta. The event, which will take place this Friday, June 7, at the La Tegala Sociocultural Center, at 9:00 p.m., will feature a musical performance by the trio formed by Javier Infante, Alexis Lemes and Javier Colina.

The mayor of Haría, Alfredo Villalba, points out the strong connection and commitment of José Pérez Dorta with the town of Haría, especially with the primary sector of the area. "This event is very important for our residents and I believe that starring in the reading of the proclamation of our patron saint festivities is the best way to thank him for his great work and roots in our land," he highlights.

José Pérez Dorta was born on October 12, 1960 in Santa Cruz de La Palma. He moved to the municipality when he was very young, making Haría his home, where he has spent his adult life demonstrating a great connection and roots.
This led him to get involved in local politics, playing his role as first deputy mayor between 2015 and 2019. After his mandate, he was closely linked to the social and neighborhood movements of the municipality. However, he has also demonstrated a great involvement in the primary sector, contributing significantly to agriculture and livestock. Likewise, José Pérez Dorta was one of those responsible for the Los Lajares farm, located near the La Corona volcano.

For all these links with the history of Haría, he will be in charge of reading the proclamation and announcing the new edition of the San Juan Bautista Patron Saint Festivities, so significant and with great roots in the municipality.
