He has not yet taken the stage at LATAM VIVE and El Jeffrey has already conquered Lanzarote. The charismatic Dominican singer, one of the most recognizable voices in merengue, has landed on the island, awakening a genuine wave of affection among his followers, who eagerly await his performance tomorrow, Saturday, October 10, on the first day of the International Festival of Latin American Cultures.

José Gabriel Severino, known artistically as El Jeffrey and popularly as "El Canto Lindo," has shown since his arrival that his magnetism goes far beyond music. Friendly, charming, spontaneous, and with an overwhelming personality, the artist has allowed himself to be loved by his fans, has shared greetings, photographs, and expressions of affection, and has turned every encounter into a small celebration.

His visit to the Cabildo of Lanzarote and La Graciosa also did not go unnoticed. With his particular sense of humor, his contagious energy, and his ease in connecting with those he crosses paths with, the Dominican merengue singer once again demonstrated why he is such a beloved artist both inside and outside his country.

But it was during one of his walks through the streets of Arrecife that he starred in one of the most special moments of his stay. Upon encountering a girl with a disability, El Jeffrey approached her and, spontaneously, began to sing to her. The little girl responded with a huge smile, in a scene of tenderness and complicity that the singer himself has shared on his social media.

A simple gesture, without grand stages or spotlights, that shows the most human side of an artist accustomed to making thousands of people dance, but also capable of gifting a moment of happiness through his voice.

The scene summarizes, in a way, the spirit with which LATAM VIVE is born: music as a universal language, capable of bringing people closer, awakening emotions, and building bridges beyond any difference.

A Merengue Star for a Much-Awaited Celebration

El Jeffrey's presence has generated great anticipation among the Dominican and Latin American community residing in Lanzarote, who find in this festival an opportunity to celebrate their roots, share their traditions, and feel like protagonists of the island's cultural life.

His concert is scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, at 9:30 PM, in the tent at the Arrecife Fairgrounds, with free admission until capacity is reached. It will be one of the major highlights of the first day of LATAM VIVE, a festival that is born with the intention of continuity and with a purpose that transcends entertainment.

Coinciding with the Hispanic Heritage Day weekend, Lanzarote premieres a meeting space that responds to a shared aspiration of many people of Latin American origin: to have a celebration in which their cultures, their music, their gastronomy, and their traditions have visibility and can be shared with the entire Lanzarote society.

Because the history of the Canary Islands and Latin America is also a history of round trips, of families separated by the Atlantic, and of generations who found new opportunities on the other side of the ocean. Today, when so many Latin Americans have made Lanzarote their home, that historical relationship takes on new meaning.

LATAM VIVE precisely wants to celebrate this coexistence, reclaim diversity as a shared wealth, and remember that integration consists not only in living in the same territory, but in getting to know each other, recognizing each other, and participating together in the construction of a multicultural society.

A festival with a solidarity commitment

LATAM VIVE also incorporates a solidarity aspect that reinforces its intention to build bridges between both shores of the Atlantic. The proceeds from the sale of cups during the festival will be donated to charitable associations and non-governmental organizations that carry out aid work in Venezuela and Colombia, with the aim of contributing to the care of people and communities affected by the consequences of natural disasters.

An initiative that turns the celebration of Latin American culture into an opportunity to also exercise solidarity and demonstrate that the ties between the Canary Islands and Latin America go far beyond music and traditions.

LATAM VIVE is celebrated on October 10 and 11 in the tent at the Arrecife Fairgrounds, with the sponsorship of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, through the Department of Economic Promotion; the Centers of Art, Culture, and Tourism of Lanzarote and La Graciosa; and SPEL-Turismo Lanzarote. All under the organization of Preventos Media.

The programming will start on Saturday, October 10 with DJ Chalo, from La Más Latina, followed by Mariachi Azteca. At 3:00 PM, the Dominican Parade is scheduled to end; Dani Valiente will perform at 5:00 PM, La K’onga at 7:00 PM, DJ Kero at 8:30 PM, and El Jeffrey will close the main musical programming of the day starting at 9:30 PM.

Sunday the 11th will begin with DJ Marino at 1:00 PM and will continue with Espacio Urbano, in which Geram, El Lince de la Canción, Stif, Johan Crissaga, Loboa, and Candela Latina will participate. At 3:15 PM Soy Colombia will arrive; at 3:30 PM, Ensamble Tango Lanzarote; at 5:00 PM, DJ Esteban; at 6:00 PM, Orquesta Son de Aquí y Allá; and at 7:40 PM, Javier Vásquez. La Viejoteca with DJ Tony Saoco and DJ Chivo will provide the final touch starting at 9:00 PM.

The experience is completed with gastronomic cantinas managed by Latin American associations on the island, as well as a children's area with inflatables, face painting, and balloon twisting, open from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM during both days.
