With the wind as the absolute protagonist and the chorus of the thousand voices of the sea and birds, the sound technician, writer of tourist guides and documentary scriptwriter, Carlos de Hita, has composed a natural symphony, the soundscape Reserva de la Sonosfera, which will be broadcast for the first time in the auditorium of Jameos del Agua

The collaborative work between the Biosphere Reserve office of the Cabildo de Lanzarote and the Centers for Art, Culture and Tourism has made it possible to promote the recording and editing of a tour of the natural spaces of the territory, which shows how nature narrates itself for those who want to listen to it.

The final document, which lasts 20 minutes, consists of a selection of images of the island's "most talkative" places, whose soundtrack is the territory's own story. Prior to the broadcast, Carlos de Hita will speak to give a brief overview of his experience and details of the work on the ground and present it to the audience.

The screening, which is free with registration, will take place on September 18 at 7:00 p.m. The organization has arranged a free bus for those interested in attending by collective public transport who request it on the form.

This is a unique opportunity to get to know Lanzarote from a new perspective, which will be presented by its author as an introduction to the screening. Sound engineer Carlos de Hita (Madrid, 1959) defines himself as "a naturalist who walks around the countryside with a microphone in his hand." He has spent more than thirty years capturing and mixing sounds to recreate soundscapes for radio and film fiction and documentary programs. He is also a writer of travel guides, documentary scriptwriter, lecturer and author of a blog about nature and its sounds.

Carlos de Hita's sound archive is one of the best in the world, with recordings made mainly in Spain, but also in other continents. His ear is able to perceive every sound of nature, from the wind or the storm to the tremor of the volcano or the falling of the leaves.
