Los Jameos del Agua will host on July 10 and 11, at 8:00 PM, the premiere of "VÍCTOR", an original musical show inspired by the figure of Víctor Fernández Gopar, El Salinero, one of the most representative figures of Lanzarote's popular culture.

The production, promoted by the Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism of Lanzarote with the sponsorship of the Department of Culture of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, is the result of more than two years of historical research and artistic development around the life and legacy of El Salinero. The project brings together outstanding Canarian artists on stage in a proposal that combines live music, dance, acting, and a careful staging.

The Minister of Culture of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Jesús Machín, highlights that "this show represents a magnificent opportunity to bring our cultural heritage closer through the performing arts, highlighting a figure deeply linked to the identity of Lanzarote like Víctor Fernández Gopar. From the Cabildo, we continue to support projects that contribute to preserving our collective memory from a contemporary perspective capable of moving audiences of all ages."

A journey through Lanzarote's memory

Los Jameos del Agua will once again become a great natural stage to host a production that pays homage to one of the most beloved figures of Lanzarote's popular culture. Beyond the show, "VÍCTOR" claims the value of memory, heritage, and the stories that have contributed to building the island's identity.

With artistic direction by Ubay T. Alemán, the musical constructs a scenic journey that moves between reality and legend to bring the audience closer to the figure of El Salinero. The show proposes a contemporary interpretation of his legacy, turning his story into a narrative where tradition, humor, emotion, and cultural roots coexist.

The production also invites us to explore a universe inspired by the landscapes and memory of Lanzarote, incorporating references to Atlantis and the island's oral tradition to build an immersive experience where music and narrative merge with the unique space of Los Jameos del Agua.

A production with a Canarian touch

The production is born from the collaboration between ROFE, Reinier Alfonso, together with the Contemporary Ballet of Lanzarote, and CIEM, after a documentation and creation process developed over more than two years.

The show brings together a wide cast of musicians, actors, dancers, and collaborators, combining established artists with young emerging creators from the Canary Islands in a proposal conceived to thrill both resident audiences and those visiting the island.

The performances will take place on Friday, July 10 and Saturday, July 11, at 8:00 PM, at Jameos del Agua. Tickets can now be purchased through Culturalanzarote.com or the website of the Art, Culture, and Tourism Centers of Lanzarote.
