Heart Lanzarote turns Playa Honda into a large open-air stage

The performing arts festival kicks off with more than 20 theater, dance, circus, and clown performances for all audiences, celebrating creativity and intergenerational encounters in the new Urban Park.

Heart Pum Pum Heart III

The performing arts festival Heart Lanzarote kicks off this Friday in Playa Honda with a vibrant program that inaugurates the Urban Park and will also fill the seafront promenade with shows for all audiences. For two days, more than twenty theater, dance, clown, circus, and workshop proposals will transform the heart of the municipality of San Bartolomé into a large open-air stage.

This Friday, the Pum Pum Heart activity, carried out in collaboration with four primary schools in the municipality, brought together more than 250 schoolchildren. Together with them, the elderly of the municipality made the Urban Park vibrate, and promoted artistic creativity, becoming a great intergenerational meeting. The morning culminated with the performance of the international choreographer Ian Garside, based in Gáldar, together with Tomás Pozzi, with their piece David & Goliath.

Friday of Emotions, Humor, and Movement

The opening day brings together some of the most anticipated pieces of this edition. Among them, Fràgil, by María Andrés, which combines gestural clowning and poetry in an emotional journey full of humor and tenderness; Jirafas de colores, by Bolina Títeres, a large-format parade that will fill the Urban Park with fantasy; and A la fresca, by Cía. Anna Confetti, with three women who reinvent local traditions in a comedic key.

Dance arrives courtesy of Iron Skulls Co with Kintsugi, a powerful metaphor about the beauty of imperfection inspired by the Japanese technique of repairing with gold. Throughout the afternoon, the public will be able to enjoy the irreverent clowning of Murmuyo with Fisura, a delirious attempt to stage an impossible play, and Raúl Magic, a young man from Fuerteventura who has conquered TikTok and YouTube with his show La magia de soñar [The Magic of Dreaming].

The night will close with Glowdrums, the impressive percussion and movement show by the Brincadeira company, where rhythm, geometry, and collective energy set the pulse of the festival.

Two Days to Beat Together

This Saturday, the program will continue with new performances and family activities. Highlights include the traveling show “Ami-Go!” by Murmuyo; Gonzalo Santamaría with his musical and circus tribute The Power of the 80's; La Mecánica with the theatrical Water Falls; Adri Torrijos with the endearing clown Mr. Tie, and the company De tal palo with Fisgoneo.

The organization also invites people to participate in the creative and wellness workshops for all ages - with prior registration required for some of them. Heart maintains its inclusive and participatory spirit, inviting citizens to join the common beat of art. And, in fact, it includes the participation of the sign language interpretation team in the afternoon performances that require it.
